I couldn't make Water until I stopped being angry ... it took me five years to get over my anger. Why are we so scared of showing the truth? Why can't we question aspects of our tradition that aren't so great?

We aren't talking about theatres where Indians largely attend. Yes, 'Water' has gone mainstream with an 80-print release all over the US. But before that we have a large release at the end of March in Spain and Australia in April.

I'm getting calls. They say that I'm defiling the name of India -- but I don't see how!
