I certainly don't consider it a safety improvement when you have more of one type of accident and less of another.

The issuance of traffic tickets is about revenue generation rather than safety. As far as we can tell, there has never been a correlation between traffic tickets and any sort of increase in safety.

Quite frankly, they are not showing any kind of safety increase for having that ban in place.

Generally, maintenance and improvement of signage is a cost-effective approach to traffic safety.

All of these things reduce accidents, but they're being ignored because it's much easier to place a camera there and let the city profit from its mistakes.

Putting up cameras doesn't solve the problem. It just rewards the city for poor engineering.
