I am considering placing an officer there (at the Veterans Way-Porter Street intersection) during peak hours when Old Farm Gate closes and Veterans Gate becomes the truck point, to help ease traffic concerns.

When I go to Houston I always meet other veterans from Conroe and while we're waiting for hours and hours we talk about what we've heard about the Conroe clinic and when it's going to happen. There are a lot of veterans and we have a hard time with driving. If there was a clinic here in town you can get a neighbor to take you.

My observations to date are that most people are waiting their turn at the four-way.

Felix has handled it all extremely well. He's kept his mouth shut, he's taken the abuse from the veterans, and he's gone out and done his job. It's been an abnormal amount of focus on someone who's a 19-year-old kid.

This is what I always wanted since I came to Porter and I got it.

And I want everyone to know something about every officer in the department: We all take the same risks and act with valor every day. It's been an honor to serve.
