[Hotel owners] are expecting certain people to try and create problems for Hong Kong and these people have said they will be present, uninvited.

They have a lot of problems with people partying back there. I just figured someone set fire to the place.

We're seeing the beginning of much higher prices, driven by problems with the dollar. People need to protect themselves in this environment, and investors are getting more defensive.

We may see low-category hotels going out of business, but we need them because they primarily serve the mainland market, which is generally price- inflexible.

If qualified employees can't be found, the hotels must increase salaries to attract candidates from other industries such as restaurants, banks and insurance companies.

When a hotel is open, it's open for business.
