He's really trying to motivate the younger kids, be a leader in practice and during meets, and right now he's in that caliber of one of our top athletes that we get through here every year.

He is a great student, a great kid to be around and he's really become a leader on our team.

Both teams turned in some great times and distances, especially for the first meet. Once the season starts, you have to show your cards, everybody does. I knew I had a good hand and the guys came out and showed it.

There was a lot of great performances in the distance group. It was a much better showing than in the Danville meet (on Monday).

It's surprising, but a lot of times we've had really talented running backs so once you get down to the goal line, we were able to run it in most of the time.

Hopefully we'll get a chance to make some plays around the end zone and we can get in there.
