He went there and worked over a mile and six furlongs with [jockey] Ruby Walsh. Liam Heard rode Le Passing alongside him and I was very pleased. He jumped superbly.

I worked him seven-eighths (of a mile) on the 24th and had him shod five or six days ago, and we may have got a nail or two in a little tight. He got a little tender in his feet. For a couple of days I thought maybe he was getting sick because he wasn't himself on the track and he didn't eat up. He's getting better each day, but he's got to do some major improvement for me to run him. But if I do run him, he'll run big.

Garland, we just hopped on his back tonight and just rode him.

I don't think this is really his trip as he would probably prefer six furlongs but he was given a great ride by Adrian -- if he'd gone round them then he wouldn't have won.

My first winner was on Legal Steps, in Ireland, at Thurles, in March 1992. I rode for Jim Bolger, and his stable jockey was Christy Roche.
