He ought to be ashamed of himself for trying to use this tragedy to seek political capital. Why doesn't he make it 2 years minimum mandatory for every parent that lets their little baby go across the street? That's just as ridiculous.

Jennifer is throwing herself on the mercy of this court and the community, and we hope the court, after hearing all the facts, will do what we ask, and that is not to put Jennifer in jail.

We have to sit down with the city and maybe the state. There are heating and air conditioning components, that (for removal), you have to comply with codes.

He's a compassionate guy; he's a person of substance; he's passionate about what he wants for this state. Jim Davis is a nice guy. From my perspective, it takes more than a nice guy to get elected.

To take away that discretion from our courts would ... result in miscarriages of justice in the future which are not anticipated at this point. If they pass this, you'll see what I mean. It's a reaction without meaningful analysis or thought.

They're being very polite and accommodating. They're doing everything they can to tell you nothing.
