He has had some good at-bats and has had a flair for the big hit here recently. We saw that from him in spring training. Anyone who has seen him play realizes he has a lot of energy. He's working on focusing that energy into the important aspects of his game. He has an ability that you don't see every day.

(Lee) threw his fastball well. They swung the bats well still but Lee did a good job.

We ran into a buzz saw here. They're a very good team. They certainly came out swinging the bats, and they went right to our strength, the starting pitching.

You see a kid like Justin-Siena's Brett Wallace (who hit 12 homers in 75 at-bats last season as a high school senior) you are going to be curious. (In) the majors, there are actually very few guys with plus power. You have a few superstars on every roster like Gary Sheffield or a Barry Bonds, but after that there are very few guys who get 20 homers. Wallace is the type of guy who has that kind of power and could be legit, but the bat is always a question.

Our pitchers have pitched well from our starters to our bullpen. We have a tight pitch-count program here and every one of the pitchers has pitched well. I am proud of them.

There was definitely a sense of minor relief in the dugout tonight. They've been pressing a little bit. ... We had the one big inning (a four-run sixth), and it's contagious. Guys started hitting.
