He beat Wahpeton's No. 1 player in the state-qualifier round. Eric had a great weekend. For a first-year varsity player to qualify for state, that's a great accomplishment. Eric is a very good athlete.

He served the ball extremely well, even in this weather. Ryan, he's just steady.

Most people probably would see that as a surprise. But Max has played well all year. Chad played well today, too. But Max stepped up his game a little more.

We're going to end up with an OK, ho-hum weekend, whereas two days ago it was looking like another awesome, blockbuster weekend coming up.

It's going to be a big weekend just because it's a Mid-American Conference team that's supposed to be at the top of the conference along with us. Even though it's early in the season, it's going to be one of those weekend series' that we'll begin to position ourselves after this weekend.

We're going to find out a lot about ourselves this weekend.
