Having someone win two events and anchor our state-winning relay had a lot to do with how high we placed. He's a star performer and had an outstanding performance for us.

His hope is to win both events at state. He likes to win and works very, very hard. He is always the first one on the deck and has been a great role model for our team.

Anytime you win, you hear about the old school pride. That's really all it is -- winning.

He has that fight and drive. He turns into a monster once he hits the water. He is driven and focused. He is a sprinter with fast-twitch muscles, and when he hits the water it's all or nothing.

This was our fourth year (winning the meet). We had a number of individuals placing high in the events. When you can get one or two girls placing in every event, that adds up.
