Shaken and marked deeply so, Heart bared open rent asunder, Eyes dew-drops in the morning chill, Laboring fight to let go.

Tendrils of snow drifting along the beaten track, Bright sun shining through the lingering cold above, Warming my frame removed so far away, A fluttering of aspens at the fringe hearkens, I trudge along not yet weary, Remote peacefulness besets my mind.

Burn bright soul, Scream to the heavens, Seize what life offers, Warmth will be in remembrance, When light extinguished.
