Global warming will not just go away. It will continue for a long time, even if politicians make the decision to be serious about curbing it today. Turning this around will take hundreds of years.

People at the decision-making level should make better plans for robust and equitable future river-basin management. People on the ground in rural areas will vote with their feet, as they have done in Africa ever since the origin of humans in Africa. Migration will not be controllable; it's driven by needs and desire.

In a world with business as usual, in other areas like East Africa where there will be increased rainfall, different health factors will play a role in increased death rates; in this case an increase in malaria.

I still am not convinced that global warming is any more than hysteria. It's like another fad and will pass, just like global cooling was a fad in the '70s,

Low fuel taxes will make it hard to fight global warming.

Whether the process proves to be Kyoto or something else, let's acknowledge the urgency of global warming.
