For years, Central Park really wasn't a park. It was called the Public Square and was more of an overgrown vacant lot.

I love the Park. I like to walk on the East River, too, up at Gracie Square, but Central Park is my favorite part of the city.

It has always been, and still is, my intention to build a playground in Central Park.

One became the city police court and the other one was a grocery store and saloon.

Our park is the oldest ground dedicated for public use west the Allegheny Mountains.

In our neighborhood they got way overgrown and nobody was taking care of them. It was a major battle.
