For me, when they did call back, it was the first time I got serious in my mind that we might be going.

So he wrote on a little yellow piece of paper, 'Les Miles.'

Our head coach decided we were going to do more territorial recruiting like football did,

He came by and said, 'Yeah, I heard you stood Les up,' ... I said, 'I didn't stand him up, he stood me up. I was there, I was just late.' So that kind of helped bridge the gap.
