Fire crews are telling me that there is a helicopter on scene and they are telling me there is nothing they can do at this point but just let it burn. The good news is that there are not structures in the area.

Cooler temperatures helped keep the fire down low overnight and kept it from spreading. Crews will continue to put fire lines down today to get the fires under control.

The whole scene, it was basically a helicopter pilot's nightmare, because everything was basically wires or tower.

Often the crews only realize that there are special requirements when they reach the scene, and have to call for heavy-duty equipment, costing extra time.

The danger of the fire is reduced, but then we have the scene danger that we have to address, as the firefighters have to move around on the slick surfaces. So we deal with a lot of different issues with these weather conditions.
