Everywhere that Americans spread off the Eastern seaboard, heading west across this country, they put up the schoolhouse first, hired a schoolteacher, and put all the kids in school.

People really enjoy displaying their pride in their school. It helps get people involved in their local universities. The kids have a good feeling about displaying a certain school, and it might even encourage some to want to go to college.
