Everyone tries to define this thing called Character. It's not hard. Character is doing what's right when nobody's looking.

Character is what you know you are, not what others think you have.

Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are.

If you have no will to change it, you have no right to criticize it

Any fool can criticize, condemn, and complain but it takes character and self control to be understanding and forgiving.
