Everyone likes to see the library staff pushing carts. It's always amusing.

But we're a university! We have to have a library!" said Ridcully. "It adds tone. What sort of people would we be if we didn't go into the library?"

It's fair to say that this library is as involved with community events as any. I've seen that as part of my mission here, and I've been receptive to community groups coming my way.

I have the warmest of feelings for the community and the people in the community. Every day it seems I am breaking the news to somebody. I have built up relationships, and this has been a very special place for me and my family.

Life's more amusing than we thought.

I do not see my job as being anything other than a staffer responsible for the staff, ... It's my job to facilitate the president's ability to get the best out of his staff.
