Every institutional sector you can point to, I'll show you a racial disparity. When you have a racially structured system, there are more black people at the bottom because there's a dual system that sorts them at the bottom.

When you allow racial disparity and institutional inequity to affect one part of the country, eventually it's coming back to get everyone.

We're in a period of denial about the extent to which racism still exists as a structural phenomenon. It was just so evident in this storm. Even in the language people used.

He should be fired. When someone makes comments like that, that are so obviously racially prejudiced. We don't tolerate that in modern American society. We certainly didn't tolerate it in the U.S. Army and we don't tolerate it here. It's wrong.

We are very strong when you think about it like that. Just look at the seniors that are top-ranked in the country and the number of Division I scholarships that guys from West Tennessee had signed - that's your answer right there. Those are numbers that don't lie.

Racially balanced isn't the term that our board uses but it does have a policy that clearly states that when we do a redistricting we should not affect the diversity of a school any more than is necessary when drawing a line.
