Educating our communities about ways to reduce underage drinking will help protect our youth. We have seen too many tragedies involving underage drinking, and we must all do our part to prevent them.

Our hope is we will see an increase in the number of people actually making it into treatment.

By and large, in our treatment provider system, that is not the type of behavior they tolerate.

It would be ill-advised for any state to adopt something that is so high for anybody to achieve that they can't sustain a business in California.

Drunk driving is the nation's most frequently committed violent crime. Underage drinking is the No. 1 youth drug problem, and MADD served more than 30,000 victims and survivors in 2004. It is time for everyone to realize that we need the support of the entire community to solve this problem and to save lives.

We need everyone's help to keep our children and young adults safe. Underage drinkers, those who host underage drinking parties, and those who distribute alcohol to minors need to know they are being watched and reported.
