Eddie Jones is an All-Star caliber player who has had a terrific NBA career. He is a great three-point shooter who will make an immediate impact on our offense, while also serving as a solid defender in the backcourt. We look forward to Eddie finishing his NBA career in Memphis.

We're excited about how Pau and Shane have developed during their last two seasons in the NBA and we're hopeful they will to continue to play well for us, which will greatly enhance our team in the future, ... Both players had great summers preparing for this season, and we're pleased about having them on our squad.

I never experienced this ever in my career. Not just my NBA career, but my career overall. It just gets worse. It seems like we can't stop the bleeding. Just constant, constant, constant bleeding. We haven't found a Band-Aid to patch it up yet.

I tell the players, 'I'm sorry that you got hurt, but there's not a thing I can do about it'. You've got to go forward. That's the only thing I know. That's what I've tried to convey to our players. We've been fortunate here. Our organization for 18 years had very few injuries when John [Stockton] and Karl [Malone] were here ... I understood all along we were fortunate our guys stayed healthy. That's life in the NBA. If you don't like it, there's other jobs.
