Dr. Small is the steady hand guiding the Akron Public Schools during challenging times.

Two years ago, we were in academic emergency. We have shown continuous improvement as a school system. If we don't get this levy passed, we will lose everything we have gained.

If we fail in in our levy attempt, we will lose our progress. We will likely slide into a near total collapse of this school system.

If we don't pass a levy, we will lose every gain we have achieved. It's incredibly dire, the situation we're in.

I was so proud of the heart we showed. Over the last three quarters, we fought our way back into the game and had a big surge in the fourth.

It was a back-and-forth, close game all the way. It was one of those games where we were kind of out of sync at times, but we definitely executed when the game was on the line; all eight players contributed to the win.
