Dr. Chiluba has been feeling weak and he needs further treatment in South Africa. The former president is out of immediate danger as far as we know.

He has had this general discomfort and that is why we are at the hospital to determine what is causing this general discomfort.

Beginning May 2, 2006, Dr Chiluba will visit the doctors twice a week for review. At the end of the two weeks, we hope that the doctors would give him a longer review period. Otherwise, Dr Chiluba has remained in South Africa because the review days are close.

He has a serious heart condition. He also took an HIV test that showed that he was negative. This is why he intends to sue the newspaper for libel.

Our plan is that he should be here between two weeks to one month.

He will undergo medical tests beginning Monday... Then, it will be determined whether or not he should be hospitalized.
