Don't hate people, hate the beliefs that make those people less than they could be.

We're all creatures constantly moving between truth & corrupt beliefs. The latter being so easily absorbed, those beliefs killing our dreams.

In this country American means white. Everybody else has to hyphenate.

The racism, bigotry and poverty in the South made me a liberal.

All his life, he fought against bigotry, racism and discrimination. He wasn't going to come and be buried in a situation like that. I had to assure him it was no longer a segregated plot.
