Dick had a knack for saying funny things and they were off the cuff. You never knew what would come out of his mouth sometimes.

There were speakers everywhere. His whole living room was filled with them. He kept every speaker he ever bought.

He was the kind of guy TV stations needed in the beginning. He was a very inventive person who dedicated his life basically to this new medium.

Dick comes from an era when TV was a lot more personal. Dick was not just someone on TV for people who lived in northern Indiana and southwest Michigan. He was part of their family.
