Democracy is suffering because problems that affect the daily lives of Mexican citizens are going unreported.

The fact that this happened to a newspaper that is not doing any investigative reporting into organized crime and drug trafficking ... shows how critical the situation has become.

It's incredible. We have condemned this despicable act and we hope the reporter makes a full recovery. This is a newspaper that was already censoring some of its coverage because of attacks against it. Attacking a paper that was not doing aggressive coverage gives us a clear picture of the dangers that reporters confront in doing their job.

I think the work of the special prosecutor losses some significance when most of the cases are cases that have links to organized crime and drug trafficking.
