Deep down, we knew we were better than that. For the kids that have been in the program, this wasn't acceptable.

The Steinbeck Tournament (in Salinas April 15) was big for us. It seemed like we started to click. I think the girls knew what was at stake if we didn't fare well.

We've cut down on our errors. That's been the key.

Sure there is some pressure. No one wants to be the team that does not keep the run alive. But these kids are willing to accept that (pressure). Most embrace it.

In this league, you could make a case that every team deserves to be in the playoffs. But that's probably not going to happen.

That's what makes our league so great. We're going to have beat one of those teams. It's a tough situation to be in. We'll find out what we're made of.
