But that's always the way, isn't it? It's easy to be sensible for other people, but you can't always be sensible for yourself.

It was nice to have, and when the sun was out, it was even better. My wife really enjoyed just jumping it and getting a tan at the same time too.

I thought climbing the Devil's Thumb would fix all that was wrong with my life. In the end, of course, it changed almost nothing. But I came to appreciate that mountains make poor receptacles for dreams.
