Crime is not always a function of size and density and people being packed in sardines.

There are still a lot of places around the globe where eight million people get along a lot better than they do in New York.

People will be shocked to see how safe it is to live in New York City. Victims and offenders are pretty much pulled from the same background. Very often, young victims have young killers. Very often, the victim and killer knew each other.

Something terrific is going on. If only we knew what was causing it.
