Confirming John Roberts would endanger much of the progress made by the nation in civil rights over the past half century.

I think John Roberts always was the front-runner for the Rehnquist seat. I would guess that Roberts has been the choice for some time. The only curve was that O'Connor was the person (to retire), not Rehnquist.

He is refusing to give senators straight answers to legitimate questions. A woman's right to choose and civil rights protections are at risk. Senators must not allow his evasions to stand. Americans deserve clear answers.

This is going to be the most important, most controversial Supreme Court confirmation battle since Robert Bork and Clarence Thomas.

Once again, Pat Robertson leaves us speechless with his insensitivity and arrogance.
