Community colleges are one of America's great social inventions a gateway to the future for first time students looking for an affordable college education, and for mid-career students looking to get ahead in the workplace.

This was not a turkey. Our College of Education has nearly 500 students, and our fall applications are up 50 percent. Summer enrollment is up 62 percent. ... We have really worked hard and we are graduating people. We are not losing people.

It's so important and valuable for them to see students of color being successful ... and getting a college education.

We want to get them excited about college, their education, their future.

Our community college strength is that we serve diverse populations, and I want our international education program to reflect that.

Southwest Idaho has been designated as Boise State's service region by the state Board of Education for a community college.
