In general, we think that nature evolved this function to help us survive DNA damage that would otherwise kill us. It's probably a kind of damage that all cells encounter frequently in life.

We had three or four kids that have played in two state tournaments now. That should hopefully help us out with the nerves a bit. We've got a little tournament experience so it isn't so new and we should be able to play a little smarter.
