When an immigrant is unable to read the language, they miss opportunities in the community.

Community service is wherever there is a need, and whatever you think that you can do.

The people of our community have done an incredible job. And it makes you feel good that people in other parts of the country are touched by what has happened and want to do what they can to assist the victims.

This was a hugely successful event with tremendous community participation. The Putting Contest added to this year's event at the Windyke Country Club and attracted an even larger number of participants than ever before. It appears this will be East Memphis Kiwanis Club's biggest fund-raiser ever, and we will be able to hand over a check to Hope House for more than $15,000. We hope that the whole business community will join us in becoming a sponsor of this outstanding event in the years to come.

It is beautifying our city. It is helping children in our community so that they can be proud of where they live and therefore, hopefully, they'll go to school with a good attitude. It's just rebuilding back our community so that where anybody lives they can feel proud. It's going to take a little while to do that, but I just really believe that Quincy is going to be a model city.
