Both teams just laid it on the line. It was a nice clean game. No late hits, no cheap hits. It was the kind of high school game that I like to be a part of.

That's a play that I've had for years, and we were fortunate to use that tonight, and it worked. They had been biting hard and coming up on the toss-sweep all night, and we thought that would be a spot to run that play.

It sure seemed like the game counted for something. Both teams wanted to win. I know that they didn't come here to lose and we didn't want to lose. I knew it was going to be a good hard-fought football game.

As we moved I reminded myself of how God had taken care of us when I thought all was lost. Maybe this was like a bird’s life—moving from one tree to the next and always singing their song no matter where they were perched.
