I was especially pleased to see the commitment of credit union officials to help their members and communities with special check-cashing services and lending considerations. NCUA is working closely with all affected credit unions to ensure they have the necessary resources to achieve and maintain safe and sound operational status going forward. We encourage credit unions to evaluate the benefits of joining a shared branching network, because many of the credit unions that were able to regain operations and serve their members, were able to do so through shared branching.

Credit union officials have done an outstanding job in working to ensure their operations are regaining full strength,

devastation is vast and unimaginable; the positive, 'can-do' spirit among the people was absolutely remarkable. The vision to overcome a heart-wrenching experience is alive and well with the wonderful people of South Mississippi.

This is the first time we've had a full slate in several years. And I think all of the Republican candidates are well qualified for their positions.
