Because at night
when others are sleeping,
I drown myself
in poetry.

It is a dangerous thing to substitute reading or writing for living. Live first, then write.

There is no revelation in my words. I am merely stating what others have forgotten to write down.

Poetry isn’t an island, it is the bridge.
Poetry isn’t a ship, it is the lifeboat.
Poetry isn’t swimming. Poetry is water.

All kinds of people read poetry: revolutionaries, scholars, sentimentalists etc. But above all else, lovers read poetry. Why? Because we fell in love. And then we fell in love with love.

Sometimes a writer simply finds new ways of saying what has already been said because, ultimately, truth is unoriginal.
