At best, most college presidents are running something that is somewhere between a faltering corporation and a hotel.

When you have a great building, you are inspired to do something great. For us, the building had the immediate impact of raising the aspirations of everyone involved in the arts.

It means a lot to my children. For them, it's a big deal because the Grammy nominations are so visible on the pop side.

There's not much out here. All we have is land. We don't have a big river running through our reservation, or timber. Any kind of development would be better than what's here.

I don't know what I'll do as far as running after college, although if an opportunity to compete appears, I would consider it. Right now, I just want us to win the ACC, be in the NCAA and do well at nationals.

I've been around the sport a long time and around college running a long time now.
