As employees shoulder more responsibility for selecting and funding their own benefits, they need information and decision support tools at their fingertips to make informed decisions. Because employees experience many trigger events throughout their careers, they require education and tools at each major life stage to ensure that the information they are receiving is pertinent to them.

Increasingly, employees across all life stages - but especially Singles and Young Families - are viewing the workplace as the site of choice for purchasing investment and protection products. As this trend continues, expect employers to recognize that the 'one-size-fits-most' approach may no longer be an effective way to communicate to their employees.

That decision affects about 500 employees. We're demonstrating because we want to highlight the issue of employee responsibility for healthcare coverage.

The Borough of Pitcairn has a financial responsibility to taxpayers, as well as to the hardworking employees who provide important government services like police protection, to make sure its pension obligations are fully funded. My department will work closely with municipal leaders to make sure this obligation is met,

Our decision to part with several valuable stations and their associated, valued employees was difficult, but we believe these stations will be viewed as welcome additions to the station portfolios of one or more strategic buyers. At the same time, we look forward to welcoming into our Media General family the approximately 450 employees associated with the NBC stations we are acquiring.
