As a state, we must step up to the plate and renew our commitment to ourselves, our children and our communities by adequately investing in clean water.

This new initiative at the U.S. Open reinforces our outgoing commitment to recognize the talents of those competing in wheelchair tennis at the highest levels.

I was especially pleased to see the commitment of credit union officials to help their members and communities with special check-cashing services and lending considerations. NCUA is working closely with all affected credit unions to ensure they have the necessary resources to achieve and maintain safe and sound operational status going forward. We encourage credit unions to evaluate the benefits of joining a shared branching network, because many of the credit unions that were able to regain operations and serve their members, were able to do so through shared branching.

I applaud schoolteachers, librarians, and most of all, our parents, for their commitment to teaching America's children the joys of reading.

Running 26 miles is quite a commitment. Just to be able to say that your body can handle that kind of abuse is a badge of honor. I thought the club was a wonderful idea. It's a good way for the students to channel their energies, and running is a lifelong activity they can do forever.

It won't change my commitment. I understand what they did. I understand their frustration. They could have easily killed me.
