Anytime you work with materials that are deep parts of yourself, you feel revulsion at showing things about yourself that you don't want people to know.

It's devastating. You feel uncomfortable, like your underwear is showing.

I was always mortified.Didn't they know they were tying thier mothers to the ground? Weren't chains ashamed of their prisoners?

I hated labels anyway. People didn't fit in slots--prostitute, housewife, saint--like sorting the mail. We were so mutable, fluid with fear and desire, ideals and angles, changeable as water.

There's a oneness to showing yourself to an audience. They feel that. It's healthy. That's what acting is all about.

My thoughts about God are vague and abstract. My connection with the energy of the universe is shaky.
