Any organization who wants to sponsor this program can. I know in other counties where the local extension office or local public health offices sponsor this program for the children in their counties.

These are children who are in the 185th percent of the national poverty level. If it weren't for this program, these children would not receive these meals and they may not be able to get these same meals anywhere else.

Federal funds are granted to the state level and are then contracted to the local sites and health departments. Our part in this as a health center is to send out our environmental specialists to perform site inspections on proper food handling and safety.

I'm looking out of my office now at merchants bringing their damaged goods out into the street. The entire downtown area was under 4 1/2 feet of water.

People are filing on time or using electronic services. We don't even keep the tax forms in the post office.
