And Priests in black gowns, were walking their rounds,
And binding with briars, my joys & desires.

He who binds to himself a joy doth the winged life destroy. But he who kisses the joy as it flies lives in Eternity's sunrise.

But when he has done this, let him not say that he knows better than his master, for he only holds a candle in sunshine.

Those who restrain desire do so because theirs is weak enough to be restrained.
