Although we are continuing to push for passage of Right to Repair legislation, we stand ready to work with Representatives Barton and Stearns and other interested parties to develop an effective solution to the service information issue, one that will ensure the future viability of the independent aftermarket and would maintain competition for car owners seeking maintenance and repair of their vehicle.

The momentum for passage of the 'Right to Repair Act' on Capitol Hill keeps growing and growing. We want to thank the nine additional congressmen who now support this very important piece of legislation. These new sponsors clearly realize that competition in the vehicle aftermarket is key to preserving the right of consumers to choose where they have their vehicle repaired. AAIA and the coalition of over 40 national and state aftermarket groups are committed to continuing the effort of building support for the legislation in Congress.

We see legislation coming. A lot of companies haven't stepped up to the plate.... If we do this right, it becomes an advantage to us.

We already have that right, we don't need legislation for that. If a physician wants something like that dispensed, they should find someone that will dispense it.

Our biggest target market that we really want to work with is the agricultural sector. We have very good legislation...but we are unfortunately failing to bring on board, in a meaningful way, the department of agriculture. They are just lagging behind a little bit.

Deloitte's National Tax Office monitors tax proposals and tax legislation on a daily basis. They work very closely with policy makers on Capital Hill, ... The hope is that following Dan and Katie's presentation, the tax policy professionals at Deloitte will carry the proposal to Capital Hill where members of the Ways and Means Committee and the Senate Finance Committee will get a chance to consider it.
