Alabama does have one of the most stringent habitual felony offender acts.

The main thing behind our agenda is that we've got to have a strong alternative punishment, and that's community corrections.

I think our bills do have a good chance of passing the Legislature this year, based on the governor's support. I'm guardedly optimistic.
