After what had transpired I felt I could no longer work with him. I was adamant on that to the board, based on the motion that was passed.

My perception is I don't believe he should return. I'm basing this on facts. There is the report and also the way he handled things.

There's a classic book by Albert Ellis called When AA Doesn't Work for You. It's in a field called harm reduction. You don't have to believe in God. You don't have to be abstinent. You do less harm the next time than you did the last time.

I think what happens in this process is there is an initial search and so much work is required to satisfy the competing constituencies that once a list is assembled, few people want to give it up. Some of the names on the list are almost venerable by virtue of age and longevity. There is a certain comfort in going with what you know, but it may not be the best.
