A person has the right to protect his home and property.

The right to protect the health and well-being of every person, of those we love, is a basic human right.

They probably didn't want to put the generator outside for fear it would be stolen.

This is another example of why people should please not come back to the city. We don't have the services for them.

We don't have the resources to force people out of their homes. But we have made it very clear to them that when we have to take shelter, all emergency services will stop. If people are trapped or if there is a fire in the city, no help will be coming. The consequences of staying could be death.

We had the Katrina people in our homes. We saw what they went through. That was lesson enough.
