A lot of the people were dying. Every time we looked up, we were going to funerals. We decided to get together for fun.

Sometimes when I'm [driving] on the expressway, I look down and it grieves me. It's like nobody cares what happens to us. Forget about black people and their roots.

It was the most wonderful street in the world. We loved each other and were one happy family.

They say such nice things about people at their funerals that it makes me sad that I'm going to miss mine by just a few days.

The funerals are hard, so it's good to see all these people come out and show their support,

People have passed on wonderful family trips, family reunions, missed funerals, missed weddings.
