A juror waiting to be called for jury duty could bring in a laptop, or if you're in City Hall waiting for a meeting, you can get work done while you wait. Or an employee that is at a meeting outside of their city office could be able to access files for that meeting.

What the citizens will notice is that many more things will become available not only through the Web, but through the telephone with an interactive voice response. They will be able to do a lot more, quickly and easily.

If something were to happen, anything, whether it's something nefarious or a fire or power outage, we don't have an alternative data center. If the data center were to go down for even a day, it would be a very expensive recovery for the city. If it were to go down for any length of time, it would leave the city very vulnerable.
