A gossip betrays a confidence; so avoid a man who talks too much

A perverse man stirs up dissension, and a gossip separates close friends

And withal they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not.

He that covereth a transgression seeketh love: but he that repeateth a matter separateth very friends.

Without wood a fire goes out; without gossip a quarrel dies down
